[18.11.2016]Militant and massive struggle in Tamil Nadu,  by TNTCWU and BSNLEU, demanding settlement of the issues of the contract workers. 

More than 2000 contract workers and regular employees of BSNL are conducting a massive dharna today, at Tamil Nadu CGM's office in Chennai. They are demanding the re-engagement of the 11 retrenched contract workers.  Implementation of the Corporate Office letters on payment of wages and EPF and ESI are the other issues. The CGM Tamil Nadu, instead of settling the problems amicably, took a high handed position and brought in a large number of police force to crush the struggle. In the morning, barricades were created at the main entrance of the CGM office and the gate was closed down.  The agitating comrades were not allowed to enter. However, all the comrades managed to get inside the compound and started the dharna. Com.S.Chellappa, AGS,BSNLEU, com. Babu Radhakrishnan, CS,BSNLEU, com. Murugaiah, President, TNTCWU, com. Vinodh, Secretary, TNTCWU and com.P.Palanisamy, AGS, BSNLCCWF are leading the struggle. [19.11.2016]Congrats ! Corporate Office issues letter to give provisional promotion to the successful JAO trainees.

BSNLEU is glad to inform that the Management has taken decision to give provisional promotion to the JAO trainees who have passed in the JAO LICE held on 17-11-2016, and who have successfully completed the training. Earlier, Management took decision to postpone their promotion, pending a fresh review of the results of the exam. BSNLEU strongly protested this decision and wrote a strong letter to the Director(HR). The issue was also discussed with the Director(HR), GM(Rectt.&trng.) and GM(FP). Consequently, the Management has decided to give provisional promotion to the candidates. This is a great relief to them. BSNLEU thanks the Director(HR) and other officers for taking the right decision.<<<view letter>>> <<annexure>>

[19.11.2016]BSNLEU once again insists the Management to pay November salary in cash.

BSNLEU has already written to the to the CMD BSNL, demanding that the salary for the month of November should be paid in cash, since withdrawal of cash from banks / ATMs has become very difficult after the withdrawal of Rs.1,000/- and Rs.500/- currency notes. Once again com. Swapan Chakraborty, Dy. GS and com. John Verghese, AGS, met Sri Y.N. Singh, GM(T&BFCI) yesterday, and insisted that the  November salary should be paid in cash, to mitigate the sufferings of the employees. The GM(T&BFCI) assured that the demand would be appropriately looked into.
