[10.11.2016]Review of the results of JTO LICE 2014-15 held on 24.09.2016 and JAO LICE held on 17.07.2016 - BSNLEU urged the Management to expedite the process.
BSNLEU has written letters to Director (HR) and discussed the matter of review of the results of JTO LICE held on 24.09.2016 for the vacancy year 2014-15 and also the results of the JAO LICE which was held on 17.07.2016 in view of the wrong questions/ answers in the question paper and answer sheet. Com Swapan Chakraborty, Dy.GS met the GM(Rectt), Ms Anima Roy today, the 10.11.2016 and once again discussed about these issues. The GM (Rectt) informed that the expert committee formed by the Management has reviewed the wrong questions/ answers in the question paper in case of JTO LICE. But the Union emphatically pointed out that the Expert Committee has not fully considered all the wrong questions / answers in part A of the exam, and demanded to review the same once again. But the GM(Rectt.) firmly told that the Management is not ready for any further review of the results. As regards the JAO LICE, the GM assured to expedite the process of review of the result with reference to the letter of the union.
[08.11.2016]BSNL has approached DoT, for the allotment of 700MHz spectrum, for providing 4G services.
BSNL has written to the DoT, seeking allotment of 5MHz block of 700 MHz spectrum for providing 4G services. In the recently concluded spectrum auctioning, private telecom operators did not show much interest in bidding for this 700 MHz spectrum. They have blamed that the base price of the 700 MHz spectrum, which was fixed at Rs.11,485 crore per MHz, was very high.
700 MHz spectrum is very efficient and offers good coverage with lesser number of base stations. "BSNL is already having 2500 MHz spectrum. Together with this, if BSNL gets 700 MHz spectrum, the Company can roll out it's 4G services", said shri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD BSNL. He has told the PTI that the government can allot the 700 MHz spectrum to BSNL and that in lieu of payment for this spectrum, the government can increase it's paid-up equity in the Company. BSNLEU welcomes the move made by BSNL to get 700 MHz spectrum to provide 4G service. Together with other unions and associations, BSNLEU will take all out efforts to get this spectrum.
[07.11.2016]BSNLEU writes to shri J.S.Deepak, Secretary, DoT, on the pension revision of BSNL retirees.
BSNLEU is continuously trying for a permanent mechanism for the pension revision of BSNL retirees. This issue has been taken up through the Forum. After the 2 day strike on 21st and 22nd April, 2015, discussion took place between the Forum and the Secretary, DoT. In that meeting, Forum was assured that the issue of pension revision, with effect from 01-01-2017, would be referred to the 3rd PRC. However, it was not included in the Terms of Reference to the 3rd PRC. It is also told by the 3rd PRC that, it would not give any recommendation on pension revision of BSNL retirees, since the matter is not included in the Terms of Reference. Hence, BSNLEU has written to the Secretary, DoT, demanding to immediately take the required steps for including it in the Terms of Reference.<<<view letter>>>

[02.11.2016]All Union / Association meeting to be held on 16.11.2016 to decide the future course of action against Subsidiary Tower Company issue.
An all Union / Association meeting is being convened on 16.11.2016, to discuss and decide about the future course of action against formation of Subsidiary Tower Company. Keeping in mind, the necessity to forge overall unity on this issue, the two General Secretaries of the Recognised Unions of the Non-Executives are convening this meeting.<<view notice>>
02.11.2016]Stopping recovery of over payment mistakenly made in the past – BSNLEU writes to the DDG (Estt.), DoT, demanding early endorsement of the DoP&T letter.
BSNLEU has already demanded the DoT to endorse the DoP&T letter no. F.No.18/03/2015-Estt.(Pay-I) dated 02.03.2016, as per which over payment mistakenly made in the past, to the Group ‘C & D’ employees should not be recovered. BSNL has so far not implemented the DoP&T letter on the plea that the DoT has not endorsed the same. Hence, BSNLEU has once again written to the DDG (Estt.), DoT, requesting to endorse the DoP&T letter without further delay.<<view letter>>
01.11.2016]Formation of Subsidiary Tower Company stiffly opposed.
In their meeting with Ms. Sujata T. Ray, Director (HR), today, com. P. Abhimanyu, GS, com. Swapan Chakraborty, Dy.GS and com. Sunil Gautam, Dy.GS, SNATTA, expressed strong opposition to the formation of Subsidiary Tower Company. In response, the Director (HR) stated that the Cabinet Note on formation of Subsidiary Tower Company has been approved by the Hon’ble Minister of State for Communications. The note will now be discussed by the Cabinet. The Union representatives stated that formation of Subsidiary Tower Company is a major step towards killing BSNL, and the employees will take all possible steps to stop it.
